Minden & District Horticultural Society Founding Information:

Our Society was founded in 1977 and is a part of the Ontario Horticultural Society (OHA).

We have activities such as an annual plant sale, Flower Show, interesting speakers at monthly meetings, tours, workshops and youth programs.  Our members design and maintain the community gardens in Minden.

Meetings:

1st Tuesday of each month except December to February. March & April at 1:00 p.m.; May to November at 7:00 p.m.  You can find out about upcoming speakers by clicking here.

The Annual Pot Luck Luncheon is held on the first Saturday in February at 12 noon at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Time:   May – November @ 7:00pm; March & April @ 1:00pm
Place: Minden Community Centre, 55 Parkside St., Minden, ON, K0M 2K0 Refer to the map.  The Community Centre & Arena are together.

Annual Membership:  $10.00 per adult for 2014, $1.00 for juniors

Youth Program:

Our youth program runs for 6 weeks in May and June.  It begins with classroom discussion about gardening, tools and the growing of new plants.  The children then learn how to plant seeds and assist in planting and caring for the Three Sister’s Garden which is located at the Museum in Minden.
