The Minden & District Horticultural Society looks forward to seeing you at the August General Meeting on Tuesday, August 1 at 7:00pm.

We welcome our special guest, Brenda Ibey, from The Avant-Garden Shop in downtown Peterborough, who will be speaking tonight about attracting birds to your back yard. Birds are picky eaters! Brenda will help you choose the right food and the favourite feeder for that bird you’re looking to attract. She’ll share interesting tips along the way and at the end of her presentation, any of the items on display will be available for sale.  Brenda is also the host of an informational segment called “The Garden Gate” on The New CHEX daily. Her show airs alternating Fridays between 5pm on CHEX TV. You can find links to her past episodes on her website.   The Avant-Garden Shop offers gifts and supplies for gardeners and backyard birders. Brenda also focuses on finding many unique and Canadian made products to help support artists in the community and across the Country. The shop opened in 2002.
