About this event:
Please join us for our October General meeting where Stephanie Kidd will speak with us about Hugelkultur. Hügelkultur is a horticultural technique where a mound constructed from decaying wood debris and other compostablebiomass plant materials is later (or immediately) planted as a raised bed. Adopted by permaculture advocates, it is suggested the technique helps to improve soil fertility, water retention, and soil warming, thus benefiting plants grown on or near such mounds.
We are also excited to hold our third and final mini competition of the year! The theme of this competition is ‘FALL SPLENDOR’. Please refer to your yearbook (page 13) for the competing classes. Points from all three competitions will be totalled. Prize money and trophies awarded at the AGM.
We look forward to seeing you there!
